Party Venue

The estate known as Pondwood has been hosting parties of many kinds for the past 35 years. Catering for parties of 10 to 300 for groups such as Cisco Systems, Meridian News, Microsoft, Legal and General, National Grid, Del, Sage, Sony, Three Mobile, Nokia, Hewlett Packard, BMC and hundreds more including a Royal party. In the past we ran John Torrid Gun Club being one of the largest clay pigeon shoots of its kind in the South of England.

In the late 1980s and into the 1990s we

  • owned and ran the largest Paintball organisation in the world, hosting The World Open 5-man competition.
  • hosted The World Open Speedball Tournament that raised almost £100.000 for various charities and attracted participants and donations from all around the world.
  • held fun days and tournaments every week throughout the year attracting over 300 participants at a time.

In 1994 we designed, built and ran the first reverse bungee ride outside of the USA. It was publicised across the world in both newspapers and TV news channels.

Also, during the early 1990s we designed and built a fleet of racing hovercraft for corporate entertainment, the first of its kind in the world.

We could go on and on but in a nutshell, we know how to provide a good experience for the public and corporate market and collectively the team at Pondwood Lakeside Cafe will not disappoint you should you book your party experience with us.

The venue is split into 3 sections for parties. The main service area seating can cater for up to 50 persons but generally is spaciously set for 30. On each side there is a wing area that seats 24 persons. The tables and chairs were chosen for their ability to be arranged in many formats so that for a party you can choose the configuration that best suits you.

Our staff and computerised cooking facilities can produce food and service to adequately suit your requirements and provided we have some notice there is very little that we cannot cope with if anything.

Give us a try and see for yourselves.
